The Spirit Squad will strive to be “good-will ambassadors” of the University and of the community through the involvement in and promotion of programs and activities.

They will work together to attain excellence in their performance with the ultimate goal of competition at the national level.

Are you a future Gorilla?

A gameday first, large co-ed, and UCA Division II nationally-ranked team; Pittsburg State University Cheerleading has a storied tradition that dates back to the 1930s. We are always looking for forward-thinking, adaptable, and selfless student athletes to carry on this tradition. If you were to ask alumni and current team members what defines a Gorilla cheerleader, it would be camaraderie. As a member of the Pitt Cheer squad, you will find that success is not a measure of your accomplishments, but a measure of the team's overall success; not only for gameday and for competition.
